We are Polyphenolia, a Dutch biotech company. We have developed a new polyphenol-rich food supplement after years of experimental and clinical research. In-Vino-Veritas™: Truth resides in the wine!
We are convinced that polyphenols are part of a wide array of essential nutritional components, essential for healthy blood vessels and therefore essential for a healthy heart.
What’s in In-Vino-Veritas™?
We have analysed the composition of In-Vino-Veritas™ extensively. That is why we are unique, because we know exactly what polyphenols this natural product is made of. This matters, because there are 500 polyphenols described in scientific literature, but just 35 are relevant to the human body. Our mix contains these 35 most important polyphenols in a concentrated and powdered form. They are directly sourced from the skins and pits of specific red wine grapes. In-Vino-Veritas™ was further developed into In-Vino-Veritas™ Extra with added polyphenols from the leaves and body of the olives as well as extra resveratrol. Our newest product In-Vino-Veritas™ Mediterranean is the most varied food supplement available on the market. Next to the above ingredients, it also contains lycopene from tomatoes, Bioperine® from black pepper, and the vitamins C and B1, which have a positive effect on the function of the heart (vitamin B1) and the vessel wall (vitamin C).
So, why take polyphenol capsules on top of eating vegetables, fruits, and the occasional glass of wine and spoon of olive oil?
Because most people are not used to the Mediterranean dietary pattern and therefore they do not consume enough fruit and vegetables. On average, we eat a mere 100 grams a day, whilst this should be between 400-600 gram. This quantity is simply too much for many of us, for different reasons. The average person also does not drink the right kinds of wine that contains high levels of polyphenols and lycopene. One important aspect of In-Vino-Veritas™ Mediterranean is that it is designed to supply the right quantity of polyphenols without having to absorb a lot of alcohol. People also do not use the recommended 4 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil a day. One reason for this could be that good quality polyphenol-rich olive oil is expensive, as is good quality red wine. The total cost of the total amount of polyphenols recommended by us is 1.32 euro a day. This sum is far less than when the same amount of polyphenols would have been obtained through good quality red wines, tomatoes or olive oil. Nonetheless, we at Polyphenolia first and foremost promote a healthy and balanced diet: In-Vino-Veritas™ Mediterranean is therefore not a substitution for but an addition to a healthy dietary pattern.
